Organ donation up for debate in Lichfield schools speaking contest

The issue of organ donation will be up for debate a schools speaking competition in Lichfield Guildhall.

Michael Fabricant MP will take the role of speaker for the event at 7.30pm on February 24, where competing students will discuss the question:

  • That this House believes that organ donation registers should move from an opt-in to an opt-out donation system.

The Friary, Nether Stowe School, Erasmus Darwin Academy, Chase Terrace Technology College and King Edward VI schools will compete in the Michael Fabricant/Arthur Price of England Schools Speaking Competition.

The competition will be judged by Cllr Brian Bacon (Mayor of Lichfield), Dr Neville Brown (Sheriff of Lichfield), Simon Price (Arthur Price of England) and John Cox (President of the Rotary Club of Lichfield St Chad).

People are welcome to attend the free event.
