Burntwood firm, Parry Bowen, closes
Parry Bowen, a Burntwood based construction firm employing 150 people, closed its doors and sent staff home on Friday amongst rumours that it was in financial difficulty.
The firm, which had won a contracts to work on the Olympic Village with John Sisk’s and Bovis Lend Lease, has confirmed that is is looking to go into administration according to reports.
A statement released today to Construction Enquirer said:
The directors hoped that a proposed reduction in staff would have been sufficient to see the business survive, but recent industry forecasts suggesting that there will be no imminent improvement in the outlook for the construction industry made it clear that even this action would not have been enough.
This afternoon the Parry Bowen building stood empty and locked up.
